Fanlisting?
Don't you adore things that are self-explanatory? They're just so simple, you don't even need to use any brain cells to understand them. A fanlisting is just that sort of self-explanatory thing. It is a "listing" of "fan"s of a certain subject/character/song (among other things). If successful, a fanlisting can bring together fans from all over the world. More information can be found at either Thefanlistings.org or Animefanlistings.org.
Duo Maxwell
"For the peace of the colonies, I'd gladly become the God of Death."
Duo has a strong, carefree personality and is always ready to cook up a joke to lighten the mood or for no reason whatsoever. Because of this, he is often seen as the jester or fool of the series, somewhat of a part time comedy routine, so to speak. However, there is much, much more to Duo than a quick comment and a lookover can show.
The first years of his life wasn't what anyone could call normal. Being an orphan, he was raised in the Maxwell Church on the L2 colony. When the church was destroyed, Duo took up the name "Maxwell" and also became Shinigami - the God of Death, meaning that anyone in his way would die. This definitely shows a much more dangerous, but somehow deeper side to Duo. Shinigami released his wrath for the good of the innocent, of which so many he had watched die, and not able to do anything...

Shinigami; Version Three
Just a typical name? Only something I slapped on in a fit of desperation? Not quite. I actually never have explained the exact thought process I went through to get the name Shinigami before this version, so I suppose I will do so now.
Indeed, Shinigami does seem like a common, cliche name. What with animanga like Bleach around these days, it's not like they're rare to come by. And yet, my meaning of "Shinigami" has nothing to do with the currently popular associations.
Duo Maxwell is a complex character (a point which I shouldn't really need to establish any further), and many a time there's so much more going on below the surface than he lets on. The term "God of Death" is like that, in a way. Seen simply, it represents his identity as a soldier and thereby killer in the war - but underneath it all there are the reasons and emotions for doing so. It's because he's fighting for something called peace. Because he wanted to protect and have a purpose. Because it was his duty and mission and there was probably nothing else left. Shinigami is in his essence in such a way that Duo represents it, and it represents him.
So to sum it all up, I chose Shinigami to be the name for the fanlisting not only because it's related to Duo directly, but because it expresses him in ways that nothing else can.
Shinigami version three, "Speak Like a God" was made on Photoshop 6.0 and coded using Araneae 4.5.2. The images used are from the lovely screenshots of Duo that Lexa of the Merquise Network took for me and APA Galleries. Otherwise, all written and visual content is copyright to Loika.
